Thornton Ratliff

Thornton joined Dobbins Group in 2013 with responsibilities in investment sourcing, relationship management, and new development execution. He is focused on all aspects of the acquisition and development process, from design and predevelopment to lease up and stabilization. Prior to Dobbins Group, Thornton was with Colonial Properties Trust, a publicly traded REIT headquartered in Birmingham, AL. His responsibilities included leasing and managing a diversified portfolio of commercial properties including a mixed use asset valued at over $100 million in Birmingham’s Midtown Submarket.  

Thornton is a founding member of Junior Board for Alabama Forever and Junior Board for Better Basics. He is also a member of the Rotaract Club, an affiliate of the Rotary Club of Birmingham.Thornton received his Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in English from the University of Mississippi, as well as specialized coursework from the Cox School of Business - Summer Business Institute at Southern Methodist University. Additionally, he graduated with Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED) from Auburn University.
